Saturday football - FA Cup 4th Round
*SATURDAY*

CHELSEA vs PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (1230)
Plymouth boss, Steven Schumacher, says he will pick opposite number Thomas Tuchel’s brains this afternoon. He’ll also be hoping to pick his pockets. Stranger things have happened, but not this afternoon. Home win.

KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS vs WEST HAM UNITED (1230)
One hundred and fifteen league places separate the two sides, but at kick-off it will be eleven versus eleven. Who says the FA Cup lacks appeal? The Harriers’ chairman reportedly danced with a mop after his team beat Reading in the last round. Let’s hope that mop will only be used to wipe Kidderminster tears come the final whistle today. Away win.

CRYSTAL PALACE vs HARTLEPOOL UNITED (1500)
This one looks fairly straightforward. Home win.

EVERTON vs BRENTFORD (1500)
Both sides will be focusing their efforts on the league, so this may come as something of a distraction. Home win.

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN vs BARNSLEY (1500)
NFI. Home win.

MANCHESTER CITY vs FULHAM (1500)
Fulham look set to return to the big time and this will give some indication of how well they’re prepared for that. Home win.

PETERBOROUGH UNITED vs QUEENS PARK RANGERS (1500)
Another potentially unwelcome distraction for one side pushing for promotion, the other trying to avoid the drop. Away win.

SOUTHAMPTON vs COVENTRY CITY (1500)
Two former FA Cup winners do uneven battle. Home win.

STOKE CITY vs WIGAN ATHLETIC (1500)
Wigan are looking good for promotion to the Championship, where they’re likely to meet today’s mid-table opponents once again. Home win.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs NORWICH CITY (1500)
Which side will depend more on their reserves? Home win.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED vs LUTON TOWN (1730)
It’s hard to see the appeal of this for a live TV audience. Away win.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION (2000)
Home win.

*SUNDAY*

LIVERPOOL vs CARDIFF CITY (1200)
Red stiffs take on blue pretenders. Or should it be the other way around? Expect Cardiff to battle. Home win.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST vs LEICESTER CITY (1600)
Having disposed of Arsenal in the last round, Forest will be hoping to follow suit against another top tier side – and a massive local rival. Should be a good one, this. Heart over head. Home win.

BOURNEMOUTH vs BOREHAMWOOD (1830)
What will progress to the next round do to the Cherries’ promotion effort? Indeed, what will lack of progress to the next round do? Home win.

Quite how the Liverpool keeper wasn't sent off for his studs up foul against Cardiff yet Coufal did get sent off against Arsenal is beyond me. Anyone would think there was some kind of 'big club' agenda.

Re: Saturday football - FA Cup 4th Round
His first name is actually DIOP which is worrying.
With Coufal, Johnson & then Ashby we dont need a right back and understand Spurs & Arsenal are both interested in taking him from Boro.
I'd wait til they make a bid and then bid £5m more to force the price up.

The other kid Brennan Johnson looks talented but imagine there is already a queue.
As have always said there IS talent in the Championship which we should be looking at. Ideally 20-22yo having played 50 odd games to toughen them up

According to stats Bournemouth had 82% of the possession and lost.

Grumpster - yes for a championship side chasing the playoffs the cup can be a distraction, as compared to a Kidderminster or Borehamwood for whom its good press and a fantastic payday. I doubt they'll lose much sleep, embarassing as it is.

If it wasn’t for Rice we would have gone out.a more shocking result than Bournemouth losing at home to Borehamwood .
The FA Cup is as far as I’m concerned and most genuine supporters is great entertainment and there’s always a chance there’s a team outside the premiership that has a chance of making the final.

Re: Saturday football - FA Cup 4th Round
Pretty much threw the game as he doesn't give a fuck about anything other than promotion.

Fair enough, not as if they had a chance to win the cup anyway.

Poor tactics and game management by Parker…

Far too complacent until the last 15 minutes…

Cantwell and Solanke. Should have been on earlier…

Slow buildup from the start…left it too late to shift up a gear

Brendan Rodgers on thin ice, embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup! Also sitting 10th in the PL with little hope of a European spot.

Only a couple of months ago it was suggested by more than a few he replaced OGS, another example of how fickle football is, run of bad results and your jobs on the line, win a few and finish 5th last season and your the next messiah..........

Re: Saturday football - FA Cup 4th Round
Bournemouth doing exactly what we did with slow, snail pace passing between themselves side to side, back to front and back again all just around the half way line. Easy to defend as they get bodies behind the ball. Good job we had Rice to run at them. It opens up space. Not sure who will do that for Bournemouth and would be good if Boreham Wood could get through.

Nile Ranger on the bench for Boreham Wood...

Still only 30. I had no idea he was still playing.

When you look at some of these young bright things it sticks in your throat when we have so much garbage in our squad

We should be all over Fabio Carvalho, go all out to get him over Liverpool

There is a massive squad rebuild to do this summer, we will need about 8 or 9 in, I just hope Moyes is true to his word about fast energetic hungry young players

Had a gutful of 29 year old foreign rubbish

Jordan James Spence left West Ham 2014. Its Diop Tehuti Djed-Hotep Spence who play for Forest!
